The process of making this is similar to the usual croissants, with the layers of the dough sprinkled with lots of sugar, which gives it a sweet taste, and once they are baked, a burnished exterior will develop and it gives off the crispy-caramel taste. Hence, it is a denser and sweeter version of croissant which would be best described as “caramelized croissant”.
